Accessibility
Drivers take our courses on phones, tablets and computers, with screen readers, keyboards and every kind of connection. We want every one of them to be able to finish.
What we aim for
We build the site and the course player to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we have done
- Every page and the whole course player can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Text and buttons meet the WCAG contrast ratios, and links in text are underlined.
- Pages work at phone width without sideways scrolling, and buttons are large enough to tap.
- Every lesson is written text, with optional audio narration; nothing is video-only.
- Forms label every field and say clearly what went wrong.
- Each update to the site is checked with automated accessibility tests before it goes live.
Known limits
Some links go to other sites we do not run, such as the FMCSA Training Provider Registry and our payment provider, Stripe. Their accessibility is up to them.
Tell us if something is in your way
Email support@academyofdla.com with the page and what happened. We typically respond within 24 hours, 9am to 5pm Central Time, 7 days a week, and we will help you finish your course another way while we fix it.
